Dru was Spike's sire, and they'd been together for centuries, despite
the fact that she's crazy he loves her. They came to Sunnydale together
in an attempt to kill the Slayer, but then they found out that Angelus
was back and became one big happy family again, until Dru left Spike for
a choas demon while they were in Europe.After the initative placed the
chip in Spikes brain, Dru returned to Sunnydale to fix her poor boy but
he was already in love with the Slayer.

During Buffy's senior year, Spike shows back up in town and is all lonely
and dispressed because Drusilla left him for a choas demon. Anyways he
goes to the Summers home where Joyce invites him in for a drink and they
have a chat, when Angel sees it he freaks out and Spike taunts him. Basically
Buffy came home and broke up the date.

Spike had Warren build him the Buffy-bot after he realized he loved the
Slayer, and what's better than a Slayer devoted to you that you can control.
Well until the real Buffy finds out and punches, oh well that thing did
came in handy.

Spike and Buffy have a history just as long as hers and Angel's, they
first met when she was a sophomore, it's a love/hate realationship. He's
tried to kill her every chance he's gotten, but around her freshman year
of college, the initative put a chip in his head, neturing him of his
vampire powers. Also during her freshman year, the two were briefly together,
while under the influence of a spell gone wrong. However it wasn't until
she had passed away and been resurrected that the two got serious, and
even then she was ashamed, and broke it off with him.

After Xander broke Anya's heart and canceled the wedding she attempted
to curse with her renewed vegence powers, but couldn't no matter how hard
she tried. At the same time Spike was depressed over the Slayer not wanting
him anymore and visited the Magic Box where Anya was. The two got drunk
and then had sex, unaware of the audience watching.
