Angelus / Darla
Angelus and Darla probably have the most history between anyone in Sunnydale, basically Darla sired Angelus and they went all around the world leaving choas, and death in their wake. While raiding a gypsie village, he killed an important member of the village, and was cursed with a soul. Darla wanted nothing to do with him, because he had became to human. During Buffy's freshman year, Darla attempted to kill both Buffy and Angel, however Darla got dusted instead.

Angelus / Drusilla
Angelua was Dru's sire, he took the already poor fagile girl and drove her insane, by stalking her, and killing her family. Spike attempted to help Drusilla get cured, by during a ritual that required him to drain her sire, but Buffy stopped it and she only got half cured. After Buffy helped Angelus return, he, Dru and Spike became one big happy family again.

Angel / Buffy
They met shortly after she arrived in Sunnydale, he was just a creepy guy who followed her being really annoying. Eventually she discovered that Angel was really Angelus, a vampire who had been cursed by gypsies and given a soul. The couple dated for a while, but unfortunatly on her seventeenth birthday they shared a special moment, that gave Angel a single moment of perfect happiness, reversing the curse. Angel then started stalking Buffy and her friends, attempting to drive her insane by trying to kill her friends and family one by one. She ended up killing him, when he attempted to destroy the world, however for some reason the Powers That Be, decided that the champion deserved a second chance and was sent back to Sunnydale with his soul in tact, however the couple couldn't bring themselves to keep their hands to themselves, so Angel left Sunnydale and went to L.A.

Angelus / Faith:
Angel and Buffy set Faith up to make her believe that she had help restore Angelus' soul and that they would torture and kill Buffy and live happily ever after, however that didn't happen. For some reason Faith's kiss just didn't do it for him.
